What we look at
- HTTPS
- Whether the site loads with the padlock. Without it, browsers warn visitors it is not secure.
- Response time and weight
- How long the page takes to arrive and how heavy its code is, measured from our server.
- Mobile friendly
- Whether the site tells phones how to display it on a small screen.
- Title and description
- What Google shows for your page in the results.
- One main heading (H1)
- It helps people and search engines see what the page is about.
- Local business data
- Whether the site describes your business in a way Google can read (LocalBusiness and similar JSON-LD).
- robots.txt and sitemap.xml
- Two files that help search engines find and understand your pages.
- Phone or WhatsApp in one tap
- A link to call or message you from a phone.
- Images without alt text
- How many images have none. It matters for accessibility and for image search.
What this check is not
It is a quick look at the basics, not a full audit. We read one page (usually the home page), from our server, without running JavaScript, so a site built entirely with scripts may score worse than it looks to a visitor.
We do not check your Google Business Profile
That needs access to a Google API, which we do not use. You can look in a minute: search your business name on Google and Google Maps, and check that the address, phone number and opening hours are right.
